  1. Grab the installer from Downloads (macOS .dmg / Windows .exe)
  2. Install: drag to Applications on macOS; run the setup wizard on Windows
  3. Sign in or create your account on the website
  4. Open the app and sign in with the same account using the Hotkey (+Shift+X (macOS)Ctrl+Shift+X (Windows))
  5. Verify permissions and pass the basic checks
  6. Pick a plan on Pricing
  7. Make the payment and you're all set
  8. You can now start using the app

Configure your personalized prompt

  1. Open the Dashboard
  2. Click the Config tab
  3. Enter your prompt
  4. Save and you're all set

How to Use

  5. Use the Config tab to set your personalized prompt

Plans & Usage

  • View plan and usage in your Dashboard
  • Monthly limits and rate‑limits depend on the selected plan
  • You can upgrade or cancel your plan at any time

Upgrade / Cancel

  • Upgrade from Pricing or the billing section of your dashboard
  • Cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • We do not offer refunds

Data Handling

  • Screenshots are processed for answers and not stored beyond session needs
  • Minimal request logs for abuse prevention and analytics
  • We do not store any data beyond the session needs

Permissions & Access

  • Screen recording permission (OS‑level) is required for capture
  • Network access is required for model inference and updates

Compliance

Assessment Coder is a general‑purpose assistant. Ensure your use complies with your institution’s and employer’s policies.

Can't see screen

If captures are black or empty:

  • macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording → enable for Assessment Coder; relaunch the app
  • Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Screen capture → allow desktop apps; restart the app
  • Close other utilities that overlay or block capture (screen shaders, privacy filters, recording tools)

Screen share permissions

Grant and verify permissions per OS:

macOS

  1. System Settings → Privacy & Security
  2. Open Screen Recording and enable for Assessment Coder
  3. Quit and relaunch the app

Windows

  1. Settings → Privacy & security
  2. Enable screen capture for desktop apps
  3. Restart the app

Slow performance

  • Close background apps and browser tabs during sessions
  • Switch to a smaller model if available for faster first answers
  • You can also use the "Config" tab to set your personalized prompt

Installer blocked

  • macOS Gatekeeper: Right‑click the app → Open, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway
  • Windows SmartScreen: More info → Run anyway (signed installer)

Download doesn't start

  • Try another browser or disable aggressive download blockers
  • macOS: ensure the dmg feed isn’t blocked by network policy
  • If the issue persists, contact support with your OS and browser details

Do I need a subscription to try it?

You can browse the website and docs freely. Download links are available; usage may require an active plan depending on your setup.

Will it work on my company laptop?

Many managed devices restrict screen capture. If captures are blocked, check with your admin or try a personal device.

Can I switch models mid‑session?

Yes, use +M (macOS) or Alt+M (Windows) to change the model at any time.
